چکیده

Introduction: Head injury is one of the most critical conditions and has a serious neurological outcome if not treated promptly. Effective initial assessment timely intervention ensures favourable outcome. To achieve this, many scoring systems have been devised over years which Glasgow coma scale (GCS) widely used but it does few drawbacks. A newer scale, FOUR score (Full Outline UnResponsiveness) evaluates four components. The aim present study to compare GCS in traumatic head patients predicting better done by GCOS (Glasgow Coma Outcome Scale). Methods Materials: One twenty-five with were recruited between September 2019 2021 tertiary health care centre. For all these cases, on day arrival emergency department (ED) was calculated residents attending case ED scored using GCOS. correlation three scores then calculated. Results: revealed major cause as road traffic accidents them being males. significant strong positive found when compared prediction brain patients. Conclusion: It concluded that more beneficial can be intubated Thus, tool for prognostication.

Comparison of the Full Outline of UnResponsiveness and Glasgow Liege Scale/Glasgow Coma Scale in an intensive care unit population.

BACKGROUND The Full Outline of UnResponsiveness (FOUR) has been proposed as an alternative for the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS)/Glasgow Liège Scale (GLS) in the evaluation of consciousness in severely brain-damaged patients. We compared the FOUR and GLS/GCS in intensive care unit patients who were admitted in a comatose state. METHODS FOUR and GLS evaluations were performed in randomized order in...
